In 2003, an Agreement was established between Aval and ANCP (National Association of Breeders and Researchers) , represented by its president Raysildo B. Lôbo, aiming to include carcass quality as another selection criterion in the Genetic Improvement Programs of Brahman, Guzerá, Nelore and Tabapuã breeds. In this partnership, AVAL is responsible for evaluating carcass characteristics, using state-of-the-art ultrasound technology and providing the data to ANCP . ANCP , in turn, is responsible for genetic analyses, generating DEPs (Expected Differences in Progeny) of the evaluated animals and publishing them in the annual summaries of breeding programs.
